Product Name | Human IGFBP-3, recombinant protein (Receptor Grade) |
Description | Product Specifications Human IGFBP-3: Human Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 (rhIGFBP-3) is a 264 amino acid glycosylated protein that is one of the six 'classical' IGF binding proteins. These binding proteins have an important role in stabilizing and regulating the activity of IGFs in vivo. Human IGFBP-3 is a 40-44 kDa glycoprotein that is the most abundant IGFBP in serum and milk. It is produced by non-parenchymal hepatic cells and circulates in serum, binding IGF-I or IGF-II in conjunction with an acid labile subunit (ALS) to form a 150 kDa circulating complex at a serum concentration of about 100 nM. Free IGF-I has a half-life of ~10 min in serum. This can be increased to ~25 min if bound to IGFBP-3 and to ~15 h if complexed with IGFBP-3 and ALS. Link to Sequence.Source: Produced recombinantly in human cells. Purified by affinity chromatography and HPLC. Purity: > 95% human IGFBP-3 (as determined by HPLC and N-terminal sequence) Molecular weight: 43-45 kDa Quantity: 20 µg Appearance: Lyophilized white powder Biological Activity: Characteristic doublet of glycoforms detected by immuno- blotting using an antibody specific for IGFBP-3. State: Dried from 1 M acetic acid. Reconstitution: Reconstitute in 75 µl 10 mM HCl at a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml. Aliquot, snap freeze and store at -80°C.
