| Description | Dipeptidyl peptidase-8 (DPP8) is a ubiquitously expressed serine exopeptidase that cleaves X-proline dipeptides from the N-terminus of polypeptides. DPP8 shares homology and substrate recognition patterns with DPP4 and like DPP4, is thought to play a role in T-cell activation and immune function. The DPP8 Fluorescent Activity Assay kit is designed to measure DPP8 activity using purified DPP8 or cell extracts containing DPP8. It comes in a convenient 96-well format, with purified DPP8 enzyme, DPP8 substrate, and DPP8 assay buffer for 100 enzyme reactions. The key to the DPP8 Fluorescent Activity Assay is the fluorogenic substrate. Using this kit, only one simple step on a microtiter plate is required for DPP8 reactions. The DPP8 fluorometric substrate is incubated with a sample containing DPP8 enzyme to produce a fluorophore that can then be measured using a fluorescence reader.
