| Product Name | Artemin, Recombinant, Human (ARTN, Enovin, Neublastin) |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Artemin is a disulfide-linked member of the glial cell line-derived homodimeric neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family which all signal via a multicomponent receptor system composing of a high-affinity binding component (GFRalpha1-4) and a common signalling receptor tyrosine kinase (RET). Artemin prefers the receptor GFRalpha3-RET, but will use the others as an alternative. Artemin promotes the survival and growth of peripheral and central neurons, including dopaminergic neurons in the mid-brain; and plays an important role in the development of sensory and sympathetic neurons. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human IGF2 expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.2kD Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by its binding ability in a functional ELISA (using SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells), is 4-16ng/mL. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) |
