| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, urine, saliva and tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human metallothionein (MT) concentrations in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, urine, saliva and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.813pg/ml Range: 6.25-400pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human MT. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human MT and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for MT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MT present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MT is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells.
