Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF4 signals through the FGFR1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. Recombinant human FGF4 is a 19.7kD protein consisting of 182 amino acids. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is ≤0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a speci?c activity of ≥2x10e6 units/mg. |
