Inhibits NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase activities and phorbol ester-induced ornithine decarboxylase (IC50 values are 6.9 and 11 nM respectively). Inhibits PI 3-kinase and reduces pAkt levels in pre-malignant and malignant human bronchial epithelial cells. Inhibits the growth of transformed HBE and NSCLC cells by inducing cell-cycle arrest in the G2/M phase and apoptosis. Active in vivo. A natural product isolated from Mundulea sericea. |
