Cerebellin is widely distributed in the central nervous system, where it exerts neuromodulatory functions by directly stimulating norepinephrine release via the adenylate cyclase/PKA-dependent signaling pathway; and indirectly enhances adrenocortical secretion in vivo, through a paracrine mechanism involving medullary catecholamine release. |
