Inactive human holoenzyme consists of one dimeric regulatory subunit type II alpha and two monomeric catalytic subunits (cAMP-free). Dimers and Aggregates: ≤ 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis. Biological Activity: Recombinant Holo enzyme can be activated by adding the second messenger cAMP (Activation constant about 100nM) releasing two monomeric catalytic subunits. Applications: The product is suitable for analysing PKA type II agonists (cAMP analogs) or antagonists. |
