Binds to the EF-hand/Ca2+-binding site, inhibits CaM-dependant phosphodiesterase activity and increase intracellular Ca2+ concentrations by modulating Ca2+-channel activity. Has also been shown to be a potent activator of alveolar macrophages, but, in contrast, it is only a mild activator of neutrophils and did not induce radical production by eosinophils. |
