| Description | Purified: ~85% (Ni chelate Chromatography). Interleukin1 (IL1) is a proinflammatory cytokine secreted by many different cell types which acts upon a wide range of target cells, resulting in a diverse range of effects. The biological properties of IL1 include the induction of B cell proliferation, stimulation of T cell proliferation in conjunction with IL2 and the production of collagenase and prostaglandin by fibroblasts. IL1 is also responsible for triggering the acutephase response in the liver, and is involved in both cytokine network and vascular endothelium activation.
