| Product Name | Flagellin, Recombinant, Salmonella Typhimurium, aa1-495, His-Tag |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE) Endotoxin: ≤0.01EU/ug (LAL). Flagellin is the subunit protein which polymerizes to form the filaments of bacterial flagella. It activates the innate immune system through the receptor Toll-like Receptor 5 (TLR5) and the intracellular protein NLRC4 (NLR family CARD domain-containing protein 4). Source: Native flagellin [FliC] from Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium, strain ATCC14028, aa1-495, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: Activation of TLR5 in human epithelial cell assays based on NF-kB luciferase fusions, in vivo on expression of CCL20 or IL-6. TLR5 can be stimulated in vitro by Flagellin (rec.) at concentration range of 5-50ng/ml and in vivo at a starting concentration of 0.1-1ug/mouse. Inflammasome NLRC4 can be activated at a concentration range of 1-5ug/ml on bone-marrow macrophages in the presence of streptolysin O (SLO), a protein that allows delivery of exogenous molecules into the cytosol of living cells.
