| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 2ng/ml Range: 5-120ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human CEA. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human CEA and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for CEA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody specific for CEA. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CEA bound in the initial step.
