| Description | Sample Type: Serum and plasma Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human immunoglobulin E (IgE) concentrations in serum and plasma. Sensitivity: 3.640ng/ml Range: 62.5-4000ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human IgE. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human IgE and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for IgE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IgE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IgE is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells.
