| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human ferritin (FE) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates. Sensitivity: 2.5ng/ml Range: 5-160ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human FE. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human FE and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for FE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody specific for FE. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FE bound in the initial step.
