| Description | Sample Type: Serum and plasma Intended Use: For the qualitative determination of human hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) concentrations in serum and plasma. Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human HBsAg. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human HBsAg and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the qualitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with HBsAb. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated HBsAb. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HBsAg bound in the initial step.
