| Description | Purity ~90% (SDS-PAGE). Gor, also known as Glutathione oxido-reductase, belongs to the class-I pyridine nucleotide disulfide oxidoreductase family. The main function of this protein is to maintain high levels of reduced glutathione in the cytosol. With the concomitant oxidation of NADPH, Glutathione reductase transforms oxidized glutathione to the reduced form. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-450 from bacterial GOR, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~51.2kD (473aa, aa1-450+NT His-Tag) Biological Activity: Specific activity: >52 unit/ml. One unit will reduce 1.0umol of oxidized glutathione/minute at pH 7.5 at 25°C.
