| Description | Purity >97% by HPLC. Disintegrins represent a novel family of integrin Beta-1 and Beta-3 inhibitor proteins isolated from viper venoms. Contains the RGD sequence that is recognised by a family of membrane-associated adhesion receptors including the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex of platelets. In vitro studies have shown that disintegrins are potent inhibitors of fibrinogen binding to its receptor or platelets. (IC50 = 28 nM using ADP-stimulated human platelets). |
