The tropomyosin family consists of a number of highly conserved, widely distributed 35-45 kD actin-binding proteins that are involved in the contractile system of striated and smooth muscles and the cytoskeleton of non-muscle cells. In smooth muscle and non-muscle cells, alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding a range of isoforms have been described. Source: Recombinant corresponding to a 284aa fragment from human tropomyosin-1, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. |
