| Description | CNN1 / Calponin Antibody (clone CALP) LS-C95541. Specificity: Reacts with a 34 kD protein known as Calponin. Calponin, a calmodulin, binds tropomyosin and F-actin and is thought to be involved in the regulation of smooth muscle contraction. Expression of Calponin is restricted to smooth muscle cells. Two isoforms of Calponin exist whose molecular weights are 34 KD and 29 kD. 29 kD isoform is primarily restricted to the muscle of the urogenital tract. This antibody cross reacts with rat. |
