| Product Name | Beta-lactaminase, Recombinant, E. coli, aa20-377, His-Tag (AmpC, AmpA, Cephalosporinase) |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). AmpC, also known as Beta-lactamase, is the most widespread resistance mechanism to beta-lactam antibiotics, such as the penicillins and the cephalosporins. These antibiotics have a common element in their molecular structure: a four-atom ring known as a beta-lactam. The lactamase enzyme breaks that ring open, deactivating the molecule's antibacterial properties. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa20-377 from E. coli Beta-lactamase protein, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~41.8kD (379aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Biological Activity: Specific activity is >700units/mg, in which One unit will hydrolyze 1umole of Nitrocefin/minute at pH 7.0 at 37°C. AA |
