| Description | Cellulase (Onozuka R-10) is a multi-component enzyme system derived from Trichoderma viride and contains cellulase, alpha-amylase, hemicellulase, pectinase and protease activities. It is often used in the isolation of plant protoplasts in combination with other enzymes. Unit Definition of Activity: One unit of Cellulase will liberate 1.0 micromole of glucose form carboxymethyl cellulose per minute at 40 °C, pH 4.5; glucose determined with alkaline copper reagent (3).
