IL-18 was previously known as interferon-g inducing factor (IGIF). This pleiotropic cytokine is produced by monocyte/macrophage cells. Like IL-12, IL-18 plays an important role in cell-mediated immune responses. Recombinant protein corresponding to 157aa from human Interleukin-18, expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: The ED50, as determined by dose-dependent stimulation of the IFNg by human PBMC co-stimulated with rh-IL-12, was found to be 5ng/ml. |
