| Description | This protein is the ligand for FAS. Both are transmembrane proteins. Interaction of FAS with this ligand is critical in triggering apoptosis of some types of cells such as lymphocytes. Defects in this gene may be related to some cases of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Sample Type: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human factor-related apoptosis ligand (FASL) concentrations in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates. Sensitivity: 7.81pg/ml Range: 31.25-2000pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human FASL. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human FASL and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique.
