| Description | Purity >98%. Sivelestat is a potent and selective inhibitor of neutrophil elastase (IC50 = 44 nM). It is without effect on a panel of related proteases. Sivelestat is effective in vivo, blocking elastase-dependent acute lung injury induced by intratracheal administration of LPS. Elastase inhibitors, including sivelestat, have clinical utility in protecting against direct or indirect lung injury, with or without concomitant sepsis. |
