| Description | Purity ~97% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). MEC is a secreted CC chemokine expressed primarily by epithelial cells of the bronchioles, salivary gland, mammary gland and colon. MEC signals through the CCR10 receptor and chemoattracts resting CD4, CD8 T cells and eosinophils. MEC contains six cysteines including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human MEC, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 108aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.3kD (108aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human lymphocytes using a concentration range of 1-10ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e5IU/mg.
