| Description | Highly purified (~95%). Eukaryotic DNA-dependent RNA polymerase II (or B) is composed of 10-14 polypeptides ranging from 220-10kD. Polypeptide C is the third largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. Polymerase II is responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA in eukaryotes. It contains a cysteine rich region. It exists as a heterodimer with another polymerase subunit. These two subunits form a core subassembly unit of the polymerase. Two transcript varients, differing only in the 3'UTR and encode the same protein. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 21. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Mass Spectrometric Analysis and ELISA as an antigen, ligand, or assay standard.
