| Description | This gene is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It encodes a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The encoded protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes. Sample Type: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates and urine Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human adiponectin (ADP) concentrations in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates, urine. Sensitivity: 1.102ng/ml Range: 1.562-100ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human ADP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human ADP and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for ADP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ADP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. |
