| Description | This gene is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It encodes a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The encoded protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes. Sample Type: Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of hamster adiponectin, C1Q and collagen domain containing (ADIPOQ) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.117ng/ml Range: 0.469-30ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of hamster ADIPOQ. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between hamster ADIPOQ and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique.
