| Description | Purified by chromatography. IEP Assay shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Avidin and anti-Peroxidase. Avidin, synthesized in the hen oviduct, is a glycoprotein of MW 68kD which occupies about 0.05% of the total protein content of the hen egg white. Native avidin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits. Each subunit is glycosylated at 17-Asparagine. Applications: Suitable for Western Blot, Dot Blot, ELISA, Immunoperoxidase Electron Microscopy and Immunohistochemistry. |
