PKCzeta is found in both particulate and soluble fractions and cannot be activated by phorbol ester. Treatment of cells with phorbol ester which activates PKCalpha, gamma, delta, and epsilon isoforms in NIH3T3 cells significantly reduced proliferation of cells.
