| Product Name | Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Receptor, beta, Control Peptide (IGF1Rb) |
| Description | Purity ~90% as determined by HPLC. Synthetic peptide (KKKSPGEYVNIEFG) (linear) corresponding to aa1-14 of Chain B of the IGF-1R. Type I insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF-IR) is a transmembrane tyrosine kinase. It is widely expressed among many cell types in fetal and postnatal tissues and many cell lines. Upon binding of its ligands, IGF-I and IGF-II, autophosphorylation of receptors occurs. The triple tyrosine cluster (Tyr1131, Tyr1135 and Tyr1136) within the kinase domain is the earliest major site of autophosphorylation. Phosphorylation of these three tyrosine residues is necessary for activation of kinases. Insulin receptors (IRs) share significant similarity with IGF-I receptors in structure and function. There is also an equivalent triple tyrosine cluster (Tyr1146, Tyr1150 and Tyr1151) in its activation loop of the kinase domain. Tyrosine autophosphorylation of the receptors is one of the earliest cellular responses to insulin stimulation. The autophosphorylation begins by |
