| Description | Purity >98% by HPLC. A potent naturally occuring immunosupressant and anti-inflammatory terpenoid orginally isolated from the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii hook (TwHF). It induces apoptotic death in T lymphocytes and tumour cells and also inhibits T-cell IL-2 expression at the level of NF-?B transcriptional activation. Recently it has been shown that it inhibits amyloid--Beta 1-42-induced TNF--a and IL-1-Beta production in cultured rat microglia. |
