| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.39ng/ml Range: 1.56-100ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human Lp-PLA2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human Lp-PLA2 and analogues was observed. Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for Lp-PLA2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Lp-PLA2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Lp-PLA2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells.
