| Product Name | Persephin, Recombinant, Human (PSPN) |
| Description | Purity ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Persephin (PSPN) is a neurotrophic protein and member of the Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, which plays a key role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). PSPN is synthesized throughout the nervous system, and promotes ventral midbrain dompaminergic neuron survival and ureteric bud branching, but unlike GDNF and Neurturin, does not support peripheral neuron survival. PSPN signals through a multicomponent complex consisting of the binding receptor GFRalpha4, co-expressed with the signalling Ret receptor tyrosine kinase. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human PSPN expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~10.3kD (192aa homodimer) Biological Activity: Induces RET phosphorylation using a concentration range of 0.1-1.0ng/ml. Binds to mammalian GFRalpha4 with the kD of 100pM. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Functional Assays. |
