| Description | Basal cell adhesion molecule is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BCAM gene. The BCAM gene encodes a glycoprotein expressed on cell surfaces. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of receptors and cell adhesion molecules. When expressed on erythrocytes, BCAM constitutes the Lutheran (Lu) and Auberger (Au) blood group antigens. And this protein may play a role in epithelial cell cancer and in vaso-occlusion of red blood cells in sickle cell disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Sample Type: Cell lysates, cell culture supernates, serum, plasma (Heparin or EDTA). Intended Use: Sandwich High Sensitivity BioAssay™ ELISA kit for Quantitative Detection of Human BCAM/Cd239. Sensitivity: <15pg/ml Range: 156pg/ml-10,000pg/ml Specificity: Recognizes natural and recombinant Human BCAM/Cd239. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. Test Principle: This Human BCAM/Cd239 BioAssay™ ELISA Kit was bas |
