| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 in humans is encoded by the AKR1C3 gene. This enzyme catalyzes the reduction of prostaglandin (PG) D2, PGH2 and phenanthrenequinone (PQ), and the oxidation of 9alpha, 11beta-PGF2 to PGD2. It may play an important role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases such as asthma, and may also have a role in controlling cell growth and/or differentiation. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-323 from human AKR1C3, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~39kD (343aa, aa1-323 + NT His Tag) Biological Activity: Specific activity is ~<0.1units/mg. Enzymatic activity was confirmed by measuring the amount of enzyme catalyzing the oxidation of 1micromole NADPH/minute at 25°C. Endotoxin: <1.0EU/1ug of protein (determined by LAL method).
