| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Phosphoglycolate phosphatase, also known as PGP, is detected in all tissues including red cells, lymphocytes and cultured fibroblasts (at protein level). The catalytic activity of PGP is 2-phosphoglycolate + H2O = glycolate + phosphate. The highest activities occur in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-321 from human PGP, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~36.5kD (345aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Biological Activity: Specific activity is >3000units/mg, and is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyze 1nmole of p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP)/minute at pH 7.5 at 37°C.
