| Product Name | Leptin, Recombinant, Rat (LEP, Ob, Obesity Factor) |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE and HPLC). Endotoxin: ≤0.1ng/ug. Leptin (Anti-Obesity Protein) is the protein product of the ob (obese) gene in mice and seems to be involved in appetite control. The ob gene is expressed in adipose tissue and is thought to regulate the body's fat stores. Mice with the ob/ob genotype also develop a form of diabetes similar to type II (non-insulin dependent) diabetes. Rat Leptin is a 16.2kD protein containing 147 amino acid residues. Source: Recombinant rat Leptin expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: The ED50 determined by the leptin-dependent stimulation of human OB-R transfected murine BaF3 indicator cells is 0.35-0.06ng/ml. |
