Description | The cytochrome P450 superfamily (officially abbreviated as CYP) is a large and diverse group of enzymes. The function of most CYP enzymes is to catalyze the oxidation of organic substances. The substrates of CYP enzymes include metabolic intermediates such as lipids and steroidal hormones, as well as xenobiotic substances such as drugs and other toxic chemicals. Cytochrome P450 1A2 (abbreviated CYP1A2), is involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics in the body. In humans, the CYP1A2 enzyme is encoded by the CYP1A2 gene. Expression of CYP1A2 appears to be induced by various dietary constituents. |
Immunogen | CYP1 A2 antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide as the immunogen. |
