Description | SYNGR1 Polyclonal Antibody. Synaptogyrins comprise a family of tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins with two neuronal (synaptogyrins 1 and 3) isoforms. Previous studies have indicated that synaptogyrins are involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. Synaptogyrin 1 is an integral membrane protein ubiquitously expressed in the nervous system. Synaptogyrin has four transmembrane domains and an extended cytoplasmic tail but it is not glycosylated. Synaptogyrin 1 is a tyrosine-phosphorylated by c-src and possibly other tyrosine kinases. The function of Synaptogyrin 1 is not well understood, but it may be a useful marker for nerve terminals and diagnosing neuroendocrine tumors. |
