| Description | USP medium for detection of coagulase positive Staphylococcus aureus. Coagulase-positive strains of S. aureus reduce tellurite and form black colonies on the medium. These strains typically ferment mannitol and exhibit yellow halos around black colonies. Most organisms other than coagulase-positive staphylococci are inhibited during the first 24 hours of incubation. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
