| Product Name | BHMT2, Recombinant, Human, aa1-363, His-Tag |
| Description | Purity ~90% (SDS-PAGE). BHMT2 is involved in the regulation of homocysteine metabolism. Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that plays a crucial role in methylation reactions. Transfer of the methyl group from betaine to homocysteine creates methionine, which donates the methyl group to methylate DNA, proteins, lipids, and other intracellular metabolites. BHMT2 is one of two methyl transferases that can catalyze the transfer of the methyl group from betaine to homocysteine. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-363 from human BHMT2, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~42.7kD (386aa) Enzyme Activity: Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. |
