Isobavachalcone is a natural chalcone first isolated from P. corylifolia that displays antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, anti-reverse transcriptase, antitubercular, and antioxidant activities in various research models. It can inhibit the growth of MGC803 gastric cancer cells by regulating the protein expression of caspase-3, Bcl-2, and Bax and by inhibiting Akt and ERK signaling pathways. Isobavachalcone has also been shown to inhibit oligomerization and fibrillization of ABeta42 in an SH-SY5Y cell model of ABeta42 aggregation. |
